Two evenings, the challenge has been completed …

There is no sign of conditions recovering from the winter doldrums at my qth. Although the bands are often very noisy and signals suffer a lot from qsb I managed to complete the challenge quite quickly. Some contacts needed several attempts to exchange basic data and were completed thanks to the patience of the operator at the other end. I also had several good 2-way qrp contacts and CO6RD(on 20m), although not valid for the challenge, was a welcome entry in the 2014 qrp log.

This month was fun because all tree challenges, Nancy, and NAQCC-EU and the NAQCC challenges all claimed lots of qso,s i used 16 calls if correct counted for this, and all in good qrp between 3 and 5 W. Some of them was during portable and with my BCR.

K3WWP
Of the three NAQCC challenges this month, this one took longest to complete because of a couple stubborn letters/numbers. I had the bulk of the challenge finished early in the month, but then E, U, and 6 held me up for 3 or 4 days, but I made it, and looks like I am the first from NA to do so. Now it’s a wait for 19 or so days till the October challenge(s) roll around. Thanks to all who helped me with the letters and numbers. You probably don’t even know who you are unless you happen to read the results here, and if not probably are not even aware of the challenge. That’s OK. Thanks also to Matt and Ton for these wonderful challenges. You guys are great in coming up with such varied ideas for the challenges. I know other folks have helped with challenge suggestions also like Jenny and some guy with the call K3WWP whoever he is. HI

I5SKK
Nice to be in this my second challenge, and nice to get the to be on air and meet OM from all over the world in QRP/CW mode.

Got a late start as I was on a travel trip the beginning of month. Had to really focus on the number 9 and letter V. great fun getting on the air.

PA0XAW
Just come back from a 10 day’s holiday to the UK and got my last T. Now have to finish the NAQCC challence with still a lot of letters to find……… But it’s great fun!

This was my first try at the European challenge. It was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. I was beginning to wonder if any european call signs had the numbers 5 or 7 in them : ) I lost all my antennas in an ice storm and haven’t replaced them yet, so all contacts were made either mobile with a home-brew whip or at home with a 30 meter inverted-vee dipole @10m. I was using an Elecraft KX3 running 5w.

WU1V
Enjoyed this challenge. As an art afficionado this was a pleasurable challenge for me. I used to work in the Fine Arts Library at Harvard University, part of the Fogg Art Museum, so I’m very accustomed to the art world. I also collect art books and have a great collection. BTW, I also made the North American NAQCC challenge one day earlier on my 68th birthday! The toughest cipher for me to get was ‘2’ for some reason. Just worked DK2SC whom I have worked several times before. I was surfing the low end of 20 meters and heard him in QSO with a Japan station, so I waited patiently, called him and we had a QSO. Serendipity!
