Whew, took almost as long to type in the calls above as it did to work them – longer actually with calls like EM110RAEM S506SLG and E720IARU. HI. I thought with all the numbers this month, the challenge would be harder than it was, but it actually was an easy one. The only reason it took 13 days to complete it was lack of time to get on the air with Christmas preparations, visiting friends, and various other time-consuming but enjoyable activities. I just got on this morning (13th) to extend my streak of getting some DX each day to 288 straight days and wound up working Ben DF3CB and Andy SP9KR for the final 3 and S. Band conditions were so good, with the right amount of time (at the right time) on the air, it should have taken only a day or two to finish. What a delight to have the high bands open solidly to Europe every day. I hope that lasts for a good long while now. Thanks again to our European Chapter for these great challenges.
My first challenge, tanks to xx110raem stns i got enougt letters and sifhers to fullfill this, hope i didnt count anything wrong. Tanks to the hollidays i had time to hunt a little more stations. See you in the next challenge January 2014.
Ended up having fun though I didn’t do much on this challenge until the last week of the month. It only took 14 calls to make the challenge, due in large part to S506SLG which provided 11 letters & numbers alone. I kind of took it easy with DX this month so I thought I might not make the challenge, but with some good luck in less than optimum band conditions I was able to finish on the next to the last day of the month. My power is 5 watts to a trap dipole up 6-12 meters. Rig is a Yaesu FT-450D. Lots of fun!
My trx: Yaesu FT 817. Ant Hy Endfet 80m/40m/30m/17m.
I wish all a HNY and all the best for 2014
Tnx Matt and Ton
